Montessori Reggio Academy offers Montessori programs in Sugar Land, Texas, to facilitate your child’s learning and development. We follow the Montessori method in accomplishing this goal, but beyond the school premises, specifically at home, parents should incorporate these methods in their daily tasks.
Our elementary and primary teachers believe that learning doesn’t end at school, and parents have a huge role in helping their children improve in all aspects. The question is, how would you accomplish this?
Here’s a step-by-step primary Montessori guide:
- Become a Teacher. At home, give your child chores or essential tasks to perform. Being able to finish it will give them a sense of pride in their work. But before that, demonstrate to them how these tasks are correctly done and explain the purpose of accomplishing them. This way, they’ll be able to foster independence and even understand the ties of these responsibilities to one another.
- Observe Your Child. Camp Montessori is very particular with this method as this will strengthen the child’s freedom of choice. Know which method they learn best because every child learns differently. This will enhance their natural skills and enthusiasm.
- Keep Objects at the Child’s Level. We meant this literally and figuratively. Store objects such as clothes and toys of your children in places within their reach. If this is readily accessible for them, they’ll take and return them on their own. This is another way of teaching them independence as well as discipline. Figuratively, give them tasks appropriate to their current developmental level so they won’t treat things as too easy or too difficult.
