“Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times”

The primary program at Sienna Plantation provides the children with an independent learning atmosphere and freedom to explore and learn from a well-equipped designed environment. It is planned in a way to capitalise on the innate tendency of a child’s capacity to learn new things. The sensitive period of a child starts from birth till the age of 6. The early years are considered to be very crucial in a child’s life. Therefore it is imperative that they receive the right exposure during this time. As an award-winning and fully equipped Montessori school, the Montessori Reggio Academy of Sugar Land honors the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Our primary classroom environment is designed for children approximately 3 to 5 years. It is basically a three or four year program, including what is traditionally referred to as preschool kindergarten. Here children are trained with individual learning experiences, as well as one-on-one interactions, which are a key aspect of the Montessori Method. We recognize this as the beginning of moulding character and personality of each child. That’s why Montessori learning encourages tangible, hands-on experiences.

Extensive Learning Opportunity

Under the primary program Sienna Plantation, your child will be introduced to a wide range of concepts and activities which are taught through individual and small group lessons. The real learning occurs through self-directed independent activity by choosing to learn it, repeat it and perfect it.

Teacher-Child Bonding

Our CPR certified teachers love their profession because they don’t work for money, they are passionate teachers who are attentive to each child and adhere to Montessori principles. Their in-depth knowledge and expertise is amplified by the deep relationship they develop with your child throughout the years of primary program together.

Personalised Classes

Unlike traditional classrooms where all children are expected to focus only on their teacher, our program is just the opposite. Here, the teacher is trained to pay close attention to your child’s interests, his/her personal interest, tendencies and needs. Not a single teacher will be found standing in front of the chalkboard, but rather down with your child, engaged in an activity.

Hands-On Experience

Scientifically proven Montessori primary programs help your child learn through hands-on use and exploration. Through continuous use, your child develops as a concrete understanding of concepts, thus, providing a solid foundation for practical learning into the future.

Learning through Group Activity

While we engage our children in self-directed work, there are also times for group activity and play. The teacher may organise a group for songs or for story telling sessions about a cultural, social or historical theme of interest. Lots of encouragement is provided to fun activities, games and play with friends outdoors.

Our teachers put utmost care and attention to detail into the classroom with beautiful artwork, books, low shelves and cultural items of interest to drive your child’s interest and stimulate his/her senses.

Skills for Better Future

The primary program is designed to help your child grow his best self. We have a special disciplinary program through which we teach your child how to be disciplined, how to act politely in social situations and how to be kind and considerate with friends.

MRA Kindergarten

Montessori is a standard of education that allows your child to build upon experiences each year. Your child will receive Primary education, including the traditional kindergarten year. It is the most crucial time in every child’s career– when the seeds of learning are about to bloom. A child is introduced to numbers and the decimal system- can learn about special characters, geometric figures and the political countries of our world. She leaves the primary program with a deep rooted knowledge and strong set of academic skills; but, more importantly, with the positive attitude that learning is fun and exciting. At this point, your child is all set to move up to the Elementary Program, from the ages of 6 to 12.

Early childhood is the time for growth and development. The base for a child’s intellectual, emotional, social, and moral life is formed during these initial years, and the Sienna Plantation Primary Program honors the importance of moulding the character and personality of each child.
