Our classrooms feature the full range of Montessori materials, allowing children to progress through the curriculum at their own pace, developing concentration, coordination, and independence.
We embrace the Reggio philosophy of documenting children’s work, creating beautiful learning spaces, and involving families in the educational journey through collaborative projects.
Our integrated approach to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that prepare students for future success.
Our students learn to work and play with others in a peaceful, caring community. Tolerance, acceptance, encouragement, and mental health are embodied in all activities. Students develop and identify a clear sense of self, values, and social conscience.
Maria Montessori believed that there are “sensitive periods” in a child’s development. The curriculum takes natural advantage of this and has the child make choices regarding that day’s lessons.
There is a whole-language approach to reading, composition, and literature, which immerses the child in the activity, and refinement is an ongoing process. Math moves from concrete to abstract ideas, using high-quality, hands-on, self-correcting learning materials. The child gains a clear image of math and how it works. They can then readily understand symbolic math without memorizing rote math facts. Many math concepts get introduced at an early age (plain and solid geometry, logic, etc.), and students enjoy the regular application of math across the daily curriculum.
